On January 13, 2026, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu met with a visiting delegation of permanent representatives of Arab countries to the League of Arab States (LAS) and officials from the LAS Secretariat.

Miao Deyu stated that China and Arab countries are good friends, good brothers, and good partners. Under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and Arab leaders, the China-Arab relationship has been at its best in history. At a time when the international situation is undergoing profound and complex changes, China, as the most trustworthy friend of Arab countries, will, as always, firmly support the just causes of Arab countries, and support Arab countries in eliminating external interference, achieving strength through unity, accelerating development and revitalization along the paths they have chosen independently, and safeguarding regional peace and stability. This year, the second China-Arab States Summit will be held in China. China is willing to work with the Arab side to take the summit as an opportunity to deepen strategic mutual trust, strengthen mutual support, share development opportunities, enhance international cooperation, and promote the building of a China-Arab community with a shared future.

Qahtan Taha Khalaf, Iraqi Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the LAS, and Khaled Manzalawi, LAS Assistant Secretary-General, delivered remarks on behalf of the Arab side, stating that the Arab side attaches great importance to developing Arab-China relations and is willing to work closely with China to ensure the complete success of the second China-Arab States Summit.
