April is Earth Month and Earth Day is recognized globally on April 22. During Earth Month, community members are invited to explore the City of West Hollywood's new Climate Resilience Toolkit, take action through the City's My WeHo Climate Action platform, register for free workshops, and participate in City events throughout April.
In recognition of Earth Month 2026, the City of West Hollywood is launching its new Climate Resilience Toolkit, a resource to help community members prepare for climate-related hazards and emergencies. The Climate Resilience Toolkit offers practical guidance to help residents prepare for risks such as extreme heat, power outages, wildfires, drought, and flash flooding. It includes emergency planning worksheets, safety guidance, and key contacts and tools to help people stay informed and connected during emergencies. Residents can use the Toolkit to strengthen household preparedness and support a more resilient community.
The City continues to promote its My WeHo Climate Action platform, an online resource that supports community-wide sustainability efforts. The platform empowers individuals, families, and organizations to take meaningful climate action through personalized recommendations, goal tracking, and access to rebates, resources, and community challenges. Community members are encouraged to visit my.wehoclimateaction.org to create an account and explore tips, resources, and ways to take action. Anyone who completes an action through the platform during April will be entered into a raffle a gift card from West Hollywood Certified Green Businesses. Examples of actions include planting a tree at the City Tree Planting event, biking or taking transit to City events, or preparing your home for emergencies using the City's new Climate Resilience Toolkit.
Earth Month events and activities in West Hollywood include:
This virtual workshop will highlight practical climate solutions and actions community members can take. Participants will be eligible to win a small indoor smart garden system. Register via the Zoom platform.
