Public Meeting 2/26/26 – Statewide Threat Assessment Update

The Denali Commission has contracted AECOM to update the 2019 Statewide Threat Assessment.

The 2019 Assessment evaluated community vulnerability to erosion, flooding, and permafrost thaw, assigning each community a score from 0 to 3 - where:

  • 0 = No vulnerability
  • 3 = High vulnerability

This update expands upon the original study by incorporating additional data sources and evaluating vulnerability to a broader range of hazards, including:

  • Earthquakes
  • Glacial outburst flooding
  • Landslides
  • Tsunami
  • Volcano
  • Wildfire

Community leaders, stakeholders, and members of the public are encouraged to attend. The project team will be available throughout the meeting period to:

  • Explain the updated Assessment
