SWOSU MLT Students Achieve National Honors and Record Graduation
The SWOSU MLT Class of 2025.
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) is celebrating one of the most successful years in its history. The Class of 2025 is the largest graduating class in 25 years, with 23 graduates completing their studies. Thirteen students completed the Traditional SWOSU MLT track, and nine completed the Hybrid SWOSU MLT track.
These milestones reflect the program's commitment to excellence in preparing future laboratory professionals who play essential roles in today's healthcare system. Enrollment in the MLT program has steadily increased over the past decade, reflecting both demand in the healthcare industry and the program's adaptability through multiple learning formats.
The Hybrid track, designed for students balancing work or other responsibilities, has expanded access while maintaining the same academic and clinical standards as the Traditional track.
This year's achievements extend beyond enrollment numbers. Two graduates were honored at the American Medical Technologists (AMT) annual conference.

Tristyn Horn was named AMT's Student of the Year in recognition for her outstanding academic record, leadership, and commitment to the field. |
The MLT program provides students with hands-on training in laboratory tests, procedures, and clinical equipment, guided by experienced instructors. The Department of Allied Health Sciences is incredibly proud of the entire Class of 2025 and looks forward to continuing to grow and support the MLT program and future leaders in healthcare.
The program's combination of practical experience, academic training, and flexible learning options prepares students for success in a growing and in-demand field.

SWOSU welcomes transfer students! Requirements depend on hours completed: if under 24 hours, submit an application, test scores, and transcripts. For more than 24 hours, submit your application, transcript(s), and immunization records. A GPA of 1.7 is required for up to 30 hours; 2.0 is required beyond that.
