ICE Dallas arrests Tren de Aragua member

DALLAS - On Jan. 7, ICE Dallas officers apprehended Alberth Jose Simancas-Garcia, a criminal illegal alien from Venezuela and known member of the terrorist gang Tren de Aragua, who was wanted in Peru for questions relating to a homicide.

"This individual illegally entered the United States and is a known member of a violent gang," said HSI Dallas Special Agent in Charge Travis Pickard. "We will continue our efforts to prioritize public safety of our communities by arresting and removing criminal alien offenders from our streets."

Simancas illegally entered the United States on an unknown date and at an unknown location without being inspected, admitted or paroled by a U.S. immigration official. On Aug. 18, 2025, an immigration judge with the Dallas Executive Office for Immigration Review issued a final order of removal for Simancas.

In December 2025, an HSI Dallas task force received information from HSI Houston that Simancas was wanted in Peru for questions related to a homicide. Peruvian officials advised Simancas had also committed additional violent crimes, including armed robbery, assault and firearms violations.

Seventy percent of all ICE arrests have a criminal charge or conviction. However, that stat does not even account for illegal aliens who, like this one, are members of criminal gangs or terrorist organizations, or are wanted for crimes in their home countries. ICE officers and agents are risking their lives every single day to find, arrest and remove these clear public safety threats before they can victimize American communities.

HSI Dallas, ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations Dallas and the Texas Department of Public Safety safely took Simancas into custody, where he will remain pending his immigration proceedings.

You can report crimes and suspicious activity by dialing 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or completing the online tip form.
