Junction City - U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kansas), spent Friday in Junction City and Manhattan meeting with military families, mental health providers, educators, local leaders, and rural development officials to discuss support services for military-connected families, investments in early childhood education, and critical infrastructure improvements across Kansas communities.

At the USD 475 Early Childhood Center, Senator Marshall convened a roundtable discussion with military mental health providers, educators, and community organizations ahead of upcoming deployments from Fort Riley.
Senator Marshall spoke about his own family's military service and emphasized the importance of supporting military families during deployments. Participants discussed mental health resources, school-based support services, telehealth access, and opportunities for future federal grant funding.
USD 475 Early Childhood Center Ribbon Cutting

Following the roundtable, Senator Marshall joined local educators for the ribbon-cutting of the new USD 475 Early Childhood Center in Junction City.
The new 71,000-square-foot facility will centralize early childhood services for the district, expand access to free pre-kindergarten opportunities, and provide modern classrooms and specialized developmental services for children and families across the community.
Senator Marshall praised the district's investment in early education and discussed federal efforts supporting Head Start, Impact Aid, and child care programs serving military-connected and rural communities.
Foote Cattle Company Steak Feed

In Manhattan, Senator Marshall visited with Kansas ranchers and producers at the Foote Cattle Company steak feed.
The gathering brought together Kansas cattle producers to focus on herd health, beef quality, and market conditions, while continuing Foote Cattle Company's tradition of hosting community events that connect agriculture and local families.
USDA Rural Development Check Presentation

Senator Marshall also met with local officials for a USDA Rural Development check presentation supporting wastewater infrastructure improvements in Riley County.
The project will help modernize sewer and wastewater systems while supporting future growth and long-term infrastructure reliability for the community.
