On 26 June 2026 at 10.00 hrs., the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra organised a merit-making ceremony on the occasion of the 99th Birthday Anniversary of His Holiness Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatayana, the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, and in dedication to Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita, at Wat Dhammadharo, Canberra.
The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, and was attended by Heads and officials of Team Thailand agencies in Canberra, as well as their spouse and members of the Thai community. The religious ritual was presided over by Phra Supot Upasamo.
His Holiness Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatayana, the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, is the 20th Supreme Patriarch of the Rattanakosin era and the head of the Thai Buddhist monastic order. He has continuously performed ecclesiastical duties in the preservation, support, and dissemination of Buddhism and Buddhist teaching both in Thailand and abroad.
