Register Now For Sixth Annual Las Vegas My Brother's Keeper Young Men's Leadership Conference

Conference Set For Saturday, Oct. 17

Registration is now open for the free annual Las Vegas My Brother's Keeper Alliance Leadership Conference for young men scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will be held at Junior Achievement of Nevada at 4440 E. Tropicana Ave.

The conference is open to students in high school and the first-year college, and registration is available online. Free transportation is available for registered participants. For questions please reach out to Marcus Sherfield at [email protected].

The city of Las Vegas works with community partners to improve the outcomes for boys and young men through the Las Vegas My Brother's Keeper Initiative. The keynote speaker at this year's conference is Coach Ken Carter, a motivational speaker, author and former high school basketball coach. Carter's strategies for winning in life range from learning about the quality of one's character to the love of learning as well as the importance of self-discipline.

Carter is the true story behind the movie "Coach Carter" that came out in theaters in 2005.

The Las Vegas My Brother's Keeper Alliance is a collaborative effort that works to engage the community, promote optimal educational outcomes and improve law enforcement systems.
