Bringing Communities Together: A Star Spangled Start to America’s 250th

Good food, friendly competition and summer fun brought nearly 3,000 people together on June 27 as Albertsons Companies hosted Star Spangled Block Parties at Jewel-Osco in Chicago, ACME in Philadelphia and Albertsons in Meridian, Idaho.

The family-friendly celebrations transformed store parking lots into lively gathering places where neighbors connected over food, games and activities ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.

Throughout the afternoon, guests sampled a variety of summer favorites, including the limited-edition Coca-Cola Cherry Float, Kraft Singles cheeseburger sliders, Oscar Mayer hot dogs served with a full Heinz condiment spread and Chobani yogurt drinks.

Families found activities around every corner. Children enjoyed face painting, balloon art and crafts, while others tested their skills in racing simulators. Lawn games, a patriotic photo booth and music added to the festive atmosphere throughout the day. A cornhole tournament brought friendly competition to each event, with winners taking home a $500 store gift card.

The celebrations reflected the spirit of the season, bringing neighbors together to enjoy good food and time with family and friends.
