COLUMBUS, OHIO - Today, U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon visited Ohio on her Returning Education to the States Tour.

Secretary McMahon began in Cleveland for the official ribbon-cutting of the Experiential Robotics Platform (XRP) in Cleveland Metro Schools, a groundbreaking initiative preparing Ohio students for the future of work in an era shaped by artificial intelligence (AI) and automation. The program will introduce over 1,000 robotics kits-at less than the cost of a textbook-into Cleveland Metro classrooms this fall.

Secretary McMahon then traveled to Columbus accompanied by U.S. Senator Jon Husted, where they participated in a Science of Reading Training with the Ohio Department of Education to better understand how it has helped increase literacy growth across the nation. Later, Secretary McMahon continued her conversations with Ohio state legislators and toured Columbus Classical Academy, The Ohio State University, and Columbus State Community College.

Secretary McMahon ended her trip in the Buckeye State celebrating school choice and announcing the allocation of $500 million for the Charter Schools program, which includes Ohio-based program recipients, alongside U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno.

"Returning education to the states is a promise to put students first and in Ohio, we're seeing the that promise take shape - from classrooms powered by robotics and AI, to reading instruction grounded in science and results. These innovations are not coming from Washington, DC, but are being led by local educators, families, and state leaders who know what their students need to reach their full potential," said U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon.

"Secretary McMahon's dedication to empowering parents over bureaucrats to make the best educational choices for their children inspires hope for Ohio families. Her commitment to practical, community-rooted education shines brightly in the heartland and I'm grateful she joined me in Ohio," said U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno.
