Reps. Roy, Pfluger on Passage of Resolution to Honor the Victims and Heroes of the Texas Hill Country Floods

Washington, D.C. - Representatives Chip Roy (TX-21) and August Plfuger (TX-11) issued the following statement after the House passage of H. Res. 782. This resolution expresses condolences and support for the victims of the July 4 flooding in Central Texas, honoring acts of heroism, and committing to stand with those impacted by these floods.

Rep Roy on H. Res. 782:"Tonight, the House of Representatives showed unwavering support for Kerrville and all other communities impacted by the horrific flooding in the Texas Hill Country on July 4th.

I am proud to represent this beautiful part of the world and so many faithful and heroic people. I am grateful to all of my colleagues for their support of this Resolution, and I am especially grateful for my colleagues in the Texas delegation for their constant support and strength - including my friend August Plfuger who is co-leading this resolution with me.

While this resolution serves as a reminder that our nation has not forgotten about all of those impacted, our work continues to rebuild in the Hill Country, and we will rebuild.

Forever Hill Country strong."

Rep. Pfluger on H. Res. 782:"The tragedy our state endured on July 4th, 2025, was unimaginable, and we must never forget the innocent lives lost. I am thankful to see our resolution pass on the House floor today, honoring those who didn't make it home and recognizing the extraordinary bravery and selflessness of the heroes who stepped up when they were needed most. While nothing can ever bring loved ones back, we must honor their life and legacy for years to come, and that is exactly what this resolution does. I will continue to pray for every single person and community that was impacted."
