At the presidential session on Tuesday 15 September, the President of the Republic appointed Roy Eriksson to serve as Head of Mission at Finland's Consulate in Munich.
The President of the Republic appointed Counsellor for Foreign Affairs Roy Eriksson to serve as Head of Mission at the Consulate of Finland to be established in Munich. He will take up his duties on 1 October 2026.
Eriksson is transferring to Munich from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, where he has served as Ambassador for the Global Gateway and Team Europe programmes since 2023.
Eriksson has previously served as Head of Mission at Finland's Embassies in Ottawa and Mexico City. His career in the diplomatic service includes posts in Finland's Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels and Embassies in Berlin and Ankara. Eriksson has also held several posts at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, including at the Department for the Americas and Asia, the Department for Europe and the Department for External Economic Relations.
Eriksson holds the Master of Political Science degree. He joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1990.
