Family with local roots donates land plot to DWU

Descendants of the late E.B. and Helen Johnson gifted DWU a large plot of land.

Mitchell-Recently, descendants of the late E.B. and Helen Johnson gifted DWU a large plot of land north of Mitchell to be used primarily as an open, undeveloped, restored prairie habitat. The "Johnson Ancestral Prairie" will bring countless new opportunities for our students in biology, biochemistry, wildlife management and many more areas of study.

The Mitchell Republic wrote a detailed story on the family, their decision to give the land to DWU and several examples as to how the land will be used.
