As more details emerge of a potential trade deal that increases imports of Argentinian beef into U.S. markets, U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:
"While I understand the Trump Administration is committed to lowering costs for American consumers, the reason that beef prices have gone up is because of the rise in demand for American-grown beef. American cattle farmers produce an exceptionally high-quality product, particularly in Virginia's Ninth District, which is the largest cattle-producing Congressional district east of the Mississippi River.
"Our Ninth District cattlemen, ranchers and farmers deserve to be rewarded for their hard work and high-quality product. As an economic driver that feeds scores of American families, I will continue advocacy for American beef products and our Ninth District cattlemen, ranchers and farmers."
