On January 13, the President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, Peter de Roover, received Ambassador Tigran Balayan.
During the meeting, were discussedthe steps being taken to develop Armenia-Belgium bilateral relations, opportunities to expand inter-parliamentary cooperation, and the positive results achieved in various fields of cooperation.
Ambassador Balayan presented to President de Roever the achievements of the Armenia-European Union partnership on the strategic agenda, stressing that relations between Yerevan and Brussels have entered a qualitatively new historical stage, the logical milestone of which is the first Armenia-EU summit scheduled for May this year.
In the context of promoting Armenia's peace agenda, Ambassador Balayan provided a detailed overview of the results of the Washington Peace Summit and subsequent developments, as well as Armenia's consistent efforts to establish stability and a peaceful environment in the region.
Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia, Tigran Balayan, drew the attention of the President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives to the issue of Armenian hostages in Baku, emphasizing that their release would further support ongoing positive developments.
The interlocutors exchanged views regarding the schedule of upcoming high-level visits.
