New patent protects RunBuggy's use of artificial intelligence enabling customers to get real time information about the status of vehicle transport orders across RunBuggy's platform.
PHOENIX, AZ - October 26, 2026 - RunBuggy, a leading technology platform transforming automotive transportation and logistics, today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued U.S. Patent No. 12,770,090, titled "AI-Integrated Logistic Systems and Methods." The patent covers technology at the core of RunBuggy's transportation management system, which uses artificial intelligence to let shippers ask questions and receive accurate, automated answers about the status of their orders.
The award strengthens RunBuggy's growing intellectual property portfolio as the company continues to expand its AI-powered operations platform for dealers, OEMs, lenders, remarketers and other commercial shippers across the U.S. and Canada.
In vehicle logistics, shippers managing dozens or hundreds of shipments at once often struggle to get timely, accurate information about their orders. Tracking down answers typically means navigating multiple systems, waiting on hold, or sending emails that may not get a quick response. RunBuggy's patented technology changes that. Using artificial intelligence and large language models, RunBuggy's platform lets shippers simply ask a question in plain language and receive an accurate, verified answer drawn directly from the platform's live logistics data, whether they need the status of a specific order, a summary of shipment volume for a customer, or details from internal documentation.
The technology builds on RunBuggy's broader investment in AI across its operations. RunBuggy manages tens of thousands of live vehicle shipments at any given time, and its AI-powered platform helps the company improve shipment visibility, reduce preventable delays and scale efficiently as volume grows.
The patent was developed by RunBuggy's product and engineering team, with named inventors Patrick Weinkam, Chris Wang, Pat Blachly, David Erickson and Raymond Chen.
"From day one, RunBuggy set out to bring real technology to an industry that has run on phone calls and load boards," said Kevin Malik, CEO of RunBuggy. "This patent recognizes the work our team has done to put AI to practical use, giving our customers instant, reliable answers about their shipments without having to pick up the phone. It's another step in building the most intelligent platform in automotive logistics for our shippers and transporters."
"Our focus has always been applying AI where it removes real friction from the system," said Patrick Weinkam, Head of Data Science at RunBuggy. "Giving our users the ability to ask a question in plain language and get a verified, data-driven answer in seconds means less time chasing information and more time moving vehicles. We're proud to see this innovation protected."
