The Daily Record Announces 2026 Maryland’s Hispanic Leadership Awards

The Daily Record, in partnership with the Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and ALPFA Baltimore, has selected Liz Monti, Vice President of Financial Education at APG Federal Credit Union (APGFCU), to receive a 2026 Maryland's Hispanic Leadership Award.

These awards honor the growing and powerful force of Hispanic people in Maryland's economy and culture by recognizing leaders and the companies that empower them. Hispanic Leaders in six categories - Business, Government, Healthcare, Higher Education, Law and Nonprofits - are being honored for their professional accomplishments, community involvement and commitment to mentoring.

Monti is a financial leader with more than four decades of experience in the financial industry, specializing in developing and delivering impactful financial education programs for diverse audiences.

As the Vice President of Financial Education at APGFCU, she leads the organization's financial education strategy and execution. This includes driving initiatives that expand access to financial knowledge and equipping community members with the tools to make informed decisions, reducing financial stress and improving long-term financial well-being. Her leadership continues to be instrumental in helping to illustrate how APGFCU is a trusted community partner and educator. Under her purview, APGFCU continues to deliver a wide range of programs and resources for the local community, including:

• Free workshops and seminars covering a wide range of financial topics for consumers
• Youth and educator resources, such as in-school lessons, interactive tools, and financial reality fairs
• One-on-one support
• Scholarships and local partnerships
• Educational resources that expand financial knowledge including an online financial education platform

Monti currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Maryland Council on Economic Education and as president of the Foundation of Cecil County Public Schools, while continuing to serve on the Harford County Public Schools General Curriculum Committee. She has also held volunteer leadership roles with Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna, Rotary International and several other regional education and business organizations.
