Meeting at ICCROM - preservation and restoration of cultural heritage

Ambassador Martin Selmayr meets with the Director General Aruna Francesca Maria Gujra

At ICCROM, the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property in Rome, EUDEL Rome had a constructive meeting with ICCROM on how the EU and ICCROM could deepen further our cooperation, notably when it comes to the preservation and restoration of the cultural heritage of Ukraine and the challenge of climate change for cultural heritage sites.

ICCROM is mandated by its Member States (which include the EU Member States) to promote the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage in all its forms through international cooperation, capacity building, and the exchange of knowledge and expertise. The Organisation's work is grounded in the conviction - which the EU shares - that multilateralism is essential to safeguarding the world's cultural heritage for present and future generations, and to preventing its irreparable loss.
