By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:
WHEREAS, the musculoskeletal system is essential to movement, physical activity, and daily living, and maintaining musculoskeletal health supports healthy aging by helping individuals remain active, independent, and engaged in their communities; and
WHEREAS, an estimated 35 million Americans, including adults and children, seek chiropractic care each year for safe solutions that can help reduce pain, improve mobility, and enhance quality of life; and
WHEREAS, regular physical activity supports health and longevity by promoting cardiovascular and metabolic health, while maintaining joint and musculoskeletal health helps individuals remain active, mobile, and independent as they age; and
WHEREAS, chiropractic care is among several recommended approaches for managing certain musculoskeletal conditions, including back and neck pain, and may help patients manage pain while reducing the need for unnecessary or more invasive treatments;
WHEREAS, greater awareness of evidence-informed approaches to musculoskeletal care can empower individuals to make informed decisions and take an active role in their overall health and well-being; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Abigail D. Spanberger, Governor, do hereby recognize October 2026 as NATIONAL CHIROPRACTIC HEALTH MONTH in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
