TULSA, Okla. - Singer-songwriter and Southern storyteller Corey Smith is partnering with the dance floor and performing on the Track 5. stage inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 8 p.m.
Smith developed a passion for music at a young age and began building his career independently after graduating from the University of Georgia and briefly working as a high school teacher. Through relentless touring and self-released albums, he built a grassroots following with songs rooted in Southern life, personal reflection and everyday experiences.
His debut album, "Undertones," was released in 2003 and established Smith's honest, working-class sensibility. He followed it with albums "In the Mood," "The Good Life" and "Hard-Headed Fool," further establishing himself as both a songwriter and producer.
In 2011, Smith released "The Broken Record" through Average Joe's Entertainment. Produced by Rick Beato, the album reached No. 17 on the Billboard country charts. He later partnered with Sugar Hill Records for "While the Gettin' Is Good," produced by Keith Stegall, known for his work with artists such as Alan Jackson and Zac Brown Band.
Smith's latest album, "Suburban Drawl," was recorded at Sound Emporium in Nashville and produced by singer-songwriter Erik Dylan. The album blends heartland rock with Smith's grounded lyricism and reflective songwriting.
Throughout his career, Smith has maintained a busy touring schedule, often performing more than 100 shows a year. His songs, including "If I Could Do It Again," "Twenty-One" and "Drinkin' Again," have helped him build a dedicated following while maintaining his independent approach to music.
The show is free to those 21 and older.
