The City of Yuma reminds residents that the voter registration deadline for the July 21 Primary Election is Monday, June 22.
Yuma voters will elect a Mayor, Presiding Municipal Judge, and as many as three seats on the Yuma City Council during this election cycle.
Voters may check their registration status online or register through AZMVDNow, which is available 24 hours a day. Online registrations through AZMVDNow will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. Monday, June 22.
Those who prefer to register in person may visit the Yuma County Recorder's Office, 298 S. Main Street, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The County Recorder's Office will stop taking in-person registrations at 5 p.m. Monday, June 22.
Early voting for the July 21 Primary Election begins Wednesday, June 24. Voters may request an early ballot through the Yuma County Recorder's Office.
Per the City Charter, candidates who receive more than 50 percent of all ballots cast in the Primary Election are elected to the office for which they are a candidate, effective as of the date of the General Election. If any seats remain open after the primary election, candidates for those seats would advance to the November 3 General Election, with two candidates advancing for each open seat.
