The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) has appointed Hawaiʻi Public Utilities Commission Commissioner Colin Yost as Co-Vice Chair of its Committee on Energy Resources and the Environment.

In her appointment letter, NARUC President Ann Rendahl thanked Commissioner Yost for his willingness to serve and his continued commitment to advancing the Committee's work on energy efficiency, environmental protection, renewable and distributed energy resources, and consumer protection.

"I'm honored to be recognized by my regulatory colleagues and appointed Co-Vice Chair of NARUC's Energy Resources and Environment Committee," Commissioner Yost said. "This opportunity strengthens Hawaiʻi's ability to share its experience with regulators nationwide. It reflects the PUC's core values of service, transparency, collaboration and leadership, and it supports our continued work to ensure that Hawaiʻi's energy future is clean, resilient and affordable."

Commissioner Yost has served on the Committee for nearly three years, contributing Hawaiʻi's regulatory perspective to discussions on emerging energy issues and consumer-focused programs. His new role as Co-Vice Chair will support coordination between states to improve access to clean, reliable and affordable energy systems.

The Committee on Energy Resources and the Environment supports state utility regulators on emerging technologies, environmental policy, distributed energy resources and consumer-focused programs.

The appointment was announced September 22, 2026.
