Daily Digital Drop in: Exploring your device and Auckland Libraries

Join our tech-savvy librarians for a daily drop-in session about all things technology and Auckland Libraries! Whether you need help with your emails, our catalogue, printing, or accessing our partnered sites, we are here to help. Our daily topics will explore a wide range of services, building your confidence along the way.

Session One: Monday 8th September.

Learn Your Devices: Basic Skills.

  • Bring in your phone, tablet or laptop and learn some basic functions.
  • Learn how to search, find and install apps and documents.
  • Organisation and storage.
  • Deleting unwanted files.
  • Learn how to connect to our free wifi.

Session Two: Tuesday 9th September.

Emails, social media and messaging.

  • Learn about different messaging apps and social media.
  • Replying to, forwarding and sending emails.
  • Basics of social media and privacy.
  • How to set up an email account.
  • How to find, save, download and upload files.

Session Three: Wednesday 10th September.

Printing: Public Computers and Webprint.

  • Learn about our self-service printing.
  • Library account set-up and management.
  • Downloading files onto your device.
  • How to use webprint on your phone, tablet, or laptop.
  • How to print on our public computers.

Session Four: Thursday 11th September.

Auckland Libraries Website and Catalogue.

  • Learn about how to use our catalogue, how to search and tips to make searching easier.
  • Digital formats and features of library membership.
  • Learn about our partnered sites.
  • Search our research and heritage catalogues.

Session Five: Friday 12th September.

Open Session.

  • If you have a basic tech question or want to know anything about Auckland Libraries, come to this session!
