Mayor John Carney invites residents and visitors to join community leaders, elected officials, and Grand Marshal Nora Theresa Smith to Downtown Wilmington for the Irish Culture Club of Delaware 's 49th St. Patrick's Day Parade and Hooley tomorrow, March 14, 2026. The Mayor, who was honored to serve as the Grand Marshal of the parade in 2025, will join Police Chief Wilfredo Campos, Fire Chief John Looney, and ICCD club members.
The free, family-friendly St. Patrick's Day parade steps off at 4th and King Streets beginning at 12:00 p.m. Floats, marching bands, dancers, and more will proceed up King Street, continue past the Parade Grandstand at Rodney Square, and end near 14th Street, where the post-Parade Hooley will be held. The Parade is expected to take about ninety minutes, and the Hooley will end no later than 4:00 p.m.
Downtown motorists should be aware that the following streets will be closed this Saturday, March 14, from 10:00 a.m. until the parade festivities conclude:
King Street from East 4th Street to East 15th Street
East 8th Street from Walnut to Market Street
5th, 6th and 7th Streets, from King to Market Street
9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th Streets, from French to Market Street
