Salt Lake County Man Charged After Allegedly Defrauding Investors Out of Millions of Dollars

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - An indictment was unsealed today charging Parker James Wilde, 29, of Draper, Utah with securities fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering for multiple investment fraud schemes that resulted in millions of dollars of loss to approximately 200 victims.

According to court documents, starting in August 2021, Wilde allegedly solicited investors in a "done-for-you" e-commerce investment scheme promoted primarily through a curated social media display of investor success, personal affluence, and specialized knowledge. Wilde also allegedly solicited investors in a day trading scheme, promising significant returns based upon his expertise within the cryptocurrency investment industry.

A jury trial is scheduled for December 18, 2026, at the Orrin G. Hatch United States Courthouse in downtown Salt Lake City.

United States Attorney Melissa Holyoak of the District of Utah made the announcement.

The case is being investigated jointly by the Utah Division of Consumer Protection and the FBI Salt Lake City Field Office.

Assistant United States Attorneys Brent Andrus and Mark Woolf are prosecuting the case.

An indictment is merely an allegation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
