On October 31, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Greece was hosted by the Institute of International Relations of Panteion University, where he delivered a lecture dedicated to Armenia's foreign policy, titled "Armenia: Foreign Policy and Regional Balancing."
The event was moderated by Professor Dimitris Triantafyllou of Panteion University. The opening remarks were delivered by the Executive Director of the Institute of International Relations, Ino Afentouli.
Ambassador Tigran Mkrtchyan presented in detail the documents signed in Washington on August 8 and their significance for the future of Armenia and the region. The Joint Declaration was discussed point by point.
He also presented the project "Trump's Path for International Peace and Prosperity" in the context of the "Crossroads of Peace." The Ambassador elaborated on this by presenting the memorandum signed between the Republic of Armenia and the United States concerning partnership in developing the capacities of the "Crossroads of Peace" project.
The Ambassador then discussed the prospects for normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations and their importance for regional security.
Further, he addressed the unprecedentedly high-level dialogue between Armenia and the European Union, the new agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership, and the EU Civilian Monitoring Mission in Armenia.
Particular emphasis was placed on deepening Armenia-Greece cooperation and its prospects, including in the field of defense.
The Ambassador also touched upon the hybrid threats directed against Armenia.
The lecture was attended by diplomats, experts, students, and journalists.
At the end of the lecture, the Ambassador answered questions from the audience.
