Pueblo, CO-The Pueblo Police Department, in coordination with the U.S. Marshals' Colorado Violent Offender Task Force, arrested 20-year-old Alehandro Chacon on September 3, 2025, in connection with the August 14 shooting death of 47-year-old Andrea Martinez.
Martinez's death was recorded as Pueblo's ninth homicide in 2025; there were 15 homicides year-to-date in 2024.
During the investigation, Pueblo Police detectives gathered sufficient evidence to obtain an arrest warrant for Chacon. On Sept. 3, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the U.S. Marshals Service located and took Chacon into custody. He was booked into the Pueblo County Jail on the charge of First-Degree Murder After Deliberation, where he remains in custody with a cash-only bond set at $1,000,000.

Pueblo Police Investigate Ninth Homicide of 2025
Pueblo, CO― On August 14, 2025, at approximately 3:20 a.m., the Pueblo Police Department's Communications Center received a report of a shooting in the 1600 block of Spruce Street. Pueblo PD officers were dispatched to the scene and located a female victim with a single gunshot wound. The victim was declared deceased upon arrival.
Detectives from Pueblo Police's Crimes Against Persons and Crime Scene Investigations Sections responded promptly to investigate the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
This marks the City's ninth homicide of 2025; there were 15homicides year-to-date in 2024. The Pueblo County Coroner will release the victim's identity after the appropriate notifications have been made.
