Medical Laboratory Professionals Week 2026

WHEREAS, medical laboratory professionals contribute to the overall health of our State by providing timely and accurate test results; and

WHEREAS, the profession includes pathologists, pathologist assistants, medical laboratory scientists, medical laboratory technicians, laboratory assistants, and phlebotomists who are highly trained specialists that perform and evaluate laboratory tests to detect and diagnose disease and monitor treatment; and

WHEREAS, the health of Alaskans depends upon the trained and dedicated professional clinical laboratory science practitioners that uphold standards that ensure quality and accurate results; and

WHEREAS, the work of medical laboratory specialists provides invaluable information to other medical professionals, which assists in the best possible health outcomes for patients;

WHEREAS, the State of Alaska is grateful and supports the medical laboratory professionals for their significant contribution to the health and wellbeing of all Alaskans.

NOW THEREFORE, I, Mike Dunleavy, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF ALASKA, do hereby proclaim April 19 - 25, 2026 as:

Medical Laboratory Professionals Week

in Alaska and encourage all Alaskans to acknowledge and appreciate the dedication, expertise, and service of medical laboratory professionals.
