LITTLE ROCK- Arkansas Democrats are joining in on Democrats' nationwide effort to engage Americans in the democratic process. This year's National Voter Registration Week of Action represents the largest in-person voter registration effort from the DNC and affiliated Democratic state parties in recent years.
To empower Arkansans and ensure they are registered to vote ahead of critical upcoming elections, Arkansas Dems will host a Voter Registration Training.
Arkansas Democrats Chair and Ret. Army Col. Marcus Jones released the following statement:
"In Arkansas, we rank close to last for voter participation. That's how the Republicans keep winning. Registering voters and engaging new folks into the process is exactly how we build back our party, and we're recommitting ourselves to that effort this week and going forward.
Tonight, we're having a statewide voter registration training call. Our county parties and our auxiliaries are having Voter Registration events across the state this week. And as a state party, we've sent out more than 700 digital assets to ensure that they are prepared.
Under Donald Trump, already, Republican control of our government has resulted in the largest transfer of wealth from working people to the ultra-wealthy in this nation's history. But Arkansans can use their vote to change the direction of their state and country. During National Voter Registration Week of Action, we are letting Arkansans know how they can elect Democratic leaders who will serve Arkansans, not their wealthy donors."
