Official Visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia Prak Sokhonn

Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia Prak Sokhonn is on an Official Visit to Singapore from 10 to 11 March 2026 at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan.

DPM Prak made a courtesy call on Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong on 11 March 2026. PM Wong reaffirmed the strong and longstanding bilateral relations, underpinned by regular high-level exchanges and growing economic and people-to-people ties. PM Wong expressed support for Cambodia's long-term development and welcomed greater cooperation in trade and investment and capacity building, as well as in emerging areas such as the green economy. Both PM Wong and DPM Prak agreed on the importance of strengthening ASEAN solidarity and deepening integration amidst a more volatile and uncertain external environment.

DPM Prak also met and was hosted to lunch by Minister Balakrishnan. They took stock of the growing bilateral account and agreed to deepen cooperation in diverse sectors, including on human resource development, food security, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects. Both Ministers also reaffirmed the importance of upholding ASEAN Centrality and the need to build a strong network of partnerships, given current global challenges. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
