GCSU Simplifies Application Process for Fall 2027

GCSU Simplifies Application Process for Fall 2027

Undergraduate Admissions Thursday June 18, 2026

Beginning in the upcoming fall 2027 application cycle, Georgia College & State University will accept first-year student applications exclusively through the Common App for fall students - a change that will simplify the process by combining the application, essay and fee into one central portal.

Within the new structure, applicants can also choose from one of seven Common App essay prompts, rather than being required to choose between only two GCSU-specific personal essay prompts, as was previously the case. This change will give students the added flexibility of choosing a prompt that best relates to their experience, academic focus and goals, which will help GCSU staff better understand the kind of student they desire to be on campus. The Common App essay will be required for application submission.

Essay prompts are released by Common App in advance each year. View the available fall 2027 essay prompts online.

Georgia College aims to make the application process smoother for new students by implementing these changes. The Common App is used by numerous colleges throughout the country, and its platform is intuitive and easy to use, and it should be familiar to students who have submitted applications to several schools.

The fall 2027 first-year application opens Aug. 1 through Common App.

Review the requirements now to begin preparing your application.
