Chargé d'affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Fiji Wang Yuan Attends the Launching Ceremony of the 2026 China-Pacific Island Countries Climate Action Cooperation and[...]

On April 16th, Chargé d'affaires a.i. Wang Yuan of the Chinese Embassy in Fiji attended the launching ceremony of the 2026 China-Pacific Island Countries Climate Action Cooperation and Exchange Week. Dr. Sivendra Michael, Permanent Secretary for Environment and Climate Change, Mr. Mitieli Cama, Acting Permanent Secretary for Rural and Maritime Development and Mr. Zhang Baishun, Mayor of Liaocheng Municipal People's Government, also participated in the event.

Wang Yuan stated that China has vowed to accelerate green transition across the board and has actively participated in global climate governance. China will continue to build on the outcomes of the third China-Pacific Island Countries Foreign Ministers' Meeting to help PICs enhance their capacity to tackle climate change.

During the event, a series of cooperation outcomes on climate action was released and relevant experiences were shared.
