SLB Free Shred Day 2019

Silver Lake Bank hosted a Free Shred Day for the Topeka community on Friday, June 14th 2019. The event ran in conjunction with our Summer Lunch To Go at our main branch in Jayhawk Plaza. We collected and destroyed 8500lbs. of sensitive information and served 550 free lunches to the Topeka community. WIBW was on the scene to document the event.

Excerpt from WIBW.com:

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Simply tearing up your important documents and throwing them in trash is not always enough. That's why Silver Lake Bank hosted a free shred day Friday afternoon. The main branch, off Highway 24, let anyone shred up to five boxes of important papers.
Lindsey Martin, assistant branch manager at Silver Lake Bank, said shredding your documents is a great way to fight identity theft and keep your information secure.
