BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Taylor Murphy has been named associate vice president for alumni engagement, Vice President for Institutional Advancement John Latteri announced. Murphy assumed the role June 1 and brings more than a decade of experience in higher education advancement, alumni relations and enrollment management.
Murphy most recently served as director of advancement for the University's College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, a role she held since November 2024. In that role, she led alumni engagement efforts and advanced fundraising and donor relations initiatives that contributed to nearly $1.7 million in philanthropic support during the past year for student scholarships, academic programs, corporate partnerships and strategic college priorities. In addition to her work with CPHS, Murphy assumed advancement responsibilities for the Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine, securing a $250,000 scholarship commitment shortly after taking on the role.
"Taylor brings to this role a comprehensive understanding of alumni engagement and advancement, shaped by her experiences at both Campbell and Methodist University," Latteri said. "She has successfully built relationships with alumni, donors and other key stakeholders while strengthening engagement and philanthropic support. Taylor's experience and leadership make her well-positioned to lead our alumni engagement efforts."
As associate vice president for alumni engagement, Murphy will provide strategic leadership for Campbell's alumni engagement and annual giving programs and initiatives. Working alongside Director of Alumni Engagement Shelby Howard ('20) and Director of Annual Giving Chris Williams, Murphy will work to strengthen relationships with the university's growing alumni network and expand opportunities for involvement, service and philanthropy.
"One of the things I've loved most about Campbell is how quickly it starts to feel like home," Murphy said. "This community cares deeply about its students, its mission and one another. I'm grateful for the relationships I've already built here and excited to earn the trust of even more alumni as we create ways for them to stay connected, celebrate their Campbell story and continue shaping the student experience for generations to come."
Before joining Campbell, Murphy served as director of alumni relations at Methodist University, where she led alumni programming, regional engagement initiatives and signature campus events, including Homecoming and Family Weekend. She also served as liaison to the university's Alumni Association Board and helped establish infrastructure to support alumni affinity groups and volunteer engagement.
Murphy earned a bachelor's degree in political science with a concentration in international relations from Methodist University in 2015.
