On 20 May 2026, a meeting of the Belarusian part of the Joint Intergovernmental Committee on Cooperation with Saudi Arabia was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, chaired by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergey Lukashevich.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the current state and prospects for the development of Belarusian-Saudi cooperation in the trade, economic, investment, industrial, agricultural and humanitarian spheres.

The importance of intensifying joint efforts to increase mutual trade and expand cooperation in the fields of food security, pharmaceuticals, logistics and high technology was emphasised.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of joint investment projects and the expansion of contacts between the business communities of the two countries.

The sides also highlighted the significant potential for bilateral cooperation in the supply of Belarusian industrial and agricultural products to the Saudi Arabian market.

Following the meeting, further practical steps were identified to prepare for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee and to advance joint initiatives of mutual interest.
