WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Derek Schmidt recently met with Leo Norman, the winner of this year's Congressional Art Competition for Kansas's Second District and a recent graduate of Pittsburg High School.
The Congressional Art Competition is an annual nationwide competition that recognizes and encourages the artistic talents of high school students from across the United States. Winning artwork from each congressional district is displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year, showcasing the creativity and achievements of young artists from every corner of the country.
Leo's award-winning artwork was selected to represent Kansas's Second District and will be exhibited in the U.S. Capitol over the next year.
"It was a pleasure to meet Leo and congratulate him on this outstanding achievement," said Rep. Schmidt. "The Congressional Art Competition highlights the remarkable talent of students across our nation, and Leo's work is a source of pride for Kansas's Second District. I look forward to seeing his artwork every day in the Capitol."
