The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is relying upon the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC) Generic Environmental
Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, Supplement 4, Regarding the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 (NUREG-1437) and is republishing it as the Final Environmental Impact Statement for the Proposed Equipment Modernization and Digital Modernization of the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 in Appling County, Georgia (DOE/EIS-0575).

This EIS been posted to comply with applicable environmental requirements as part of the due diligence process for issuing a Department of Energy loan or loan guarantee. The posting of this EIS should not be construed as recommending a decision about the issuance of a loan or loan guarantee.
