Media Advisory: One Team, One City, One Community: City Employees Unite for Second Annual Day of Service

City employees unite for the City's second annual Day of Service, bringing hundreds of employees together for a day dedicated to giving back to the neighborhoods they serve.

Following the success of the City Manager's inaugural Day of Service in March 2026, which brought approximately 600 City employees together for community service projects contributing a total of 3,372 total hours of service, this second event is expected to engage approximately 650 employees, in projects taking place across all 10 City Council Districts in San José.

This year's projects are a great example of City employees coming together as One Team to enjoy the outdoors, make new connections with colleagues across departments, while also feeling a true sense of community both during and after the Day of Service.
