Tempe This Week Jan. 5, 2026

Homeowners affected by the Oct. 13 microburst still have time to apply for SBA disaster loans to help with storm-related recovery. The deadline to apply is Jan. 13. While a 60-day grace period is available, homeowners are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to keep their options open.

SBA disaster loans can help cover a range of storm-related costs, including home repairs, insurance deductibles, debris cleanup, temporary relocation expenses and disaster-related credit card charges.

Loan terms are designed to support long-term recovery and include up to 30 years to repay, 12 months with no interest, 12 months with no payments, no prepayment penalty and no fee to apply. There is also no obligation to accept the loan if approved.

Homeowners can apply online at sba.gov/disaster or get help in person at the Tempe Public Library, 3500 S. Rural Road, where SBA staff are available to assist with applications.
