AirPods lead to stolen vehicle recovery and arrest of man and woman in city centre: C25-271187

On November 11, 2025, shortly after 9:30 p.m., West District General Patrol officers assisted by members of Air1 and the Drone Unit, located a 2020 Ford F150 Supercrew which had just been reported stolen in the 1800 block of Portage Avenue.

At 9:00 p.m., the Ford F150 which was left running and unattended near Portage Avenue and Roseberry Street, was stolen by an unknown man. The owner of the vehicle contacted police to report the theft and advised officers he was tracking a pair of AirPods that had been left inside.

Members of Air1 searched and located the vehicle parked in a surface parking lot in the 600 block of William Avenue. An attending member of the Drone Unit located a man and a woman at the vehicle and placed both under arrest.

A 41-year-old man faces the charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 and was released on an Appearance Notice with a future court date.

A 39-year-old woman was released with no charges.
