On Saturday, June 27th, Deputy Director of Emergency Management, Quinn Gardner, gave a presentation on wildfire preparedness and Firewise neighborhoods to the Point San Pedro Road Coalition. The presentation covered topics such as the potential hazards in Marin County, how residents can stay prepared and informed, SRFD's resources to help residents prepare themselves and their homes for emergencies, and how community members can get involved.
We recommend that every household have an emergency plan, including signing up for emergency alerts, deciding on a meeting place, designating both in-area and out-of-area emergency contacts, and packing an emergency go-bag for each family member.
If you'd like to get involved with our efforts to promote neighborhood and community resilience, consider becoming a Firewise neighborhood or a Neighborhood Response Group, or joining the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
If you are interested in learning more, we've attached a video of Quinn's presentation. Thank you to the Point San Pedro Coalition for hosting this event.
