Melodies of Gratitude concert raises funds for Denver Animal Shelter
Local musicians are turning their talents into compassion later this month, joining together for Melodies of Gratitude, a benefit concert hosted by Wild Tunes, a nonprofit dedicated to soothing animals through live music and supporting Denver Animal Shelter (DAS). On Aug. 29, enjoy a heartwarming afternoon with musicians of all ages and genres who perform to bring joy and comfort to pets in need at the Denver Central Library.
Headlining the event is The Coda Ensemble, a group made up of members and friends of the Colorado Symphony. They'll take the stage alongside an eclectic lineup of musicians from across the community. All proceeds from Melodies of Gratitude will support programs that help to enrich the lives of the more than 10,000 lost, abandoned, and surrendered animals who arrive at DAS.
Wild Tunes was founded in Houston by Yuvi Agarwal when he was just 10 years old, driven by the belief that music can make life a little brighter for animals awaiting new homes. The program expanded to DAS in 2025. Since then, volunteers have played over 500 hours of live music for dogs and cats being cared for at the DAS.
As Denver's only open-admission shelter, DAS accepts every animal in need 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, regardless of age, breed, health status, or behavior. Staff and volunteers work daily to reunite families, provide medical care, and help adoptable animals find new beginnings.
Guests can also honor their own pets through the Across the Rainbow Bridge tribute, where a $15 donation features a pet's photo, name, and message during the concert.

When: Saturday, Aug. 29, 4-6 p.m. (Doors open at 3:00 p.m.
Where: Denver Central Library
Tickets: $40 for adults (21 and older), $20 for youth ages 6-20, and free for children ages 5 and younger.
Admission includes light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Guests 21 and older will also receive two complimentary alcoholic beverages.
