The Stack Extra
The City of Hayward has successfully launched a partnership with Hayward Promise Neighborhoods to create a full-service, one-stop location for accessing community education, health, employment and family services.
Opened in June 2025, the Community Hub aims to make community services more accessible in a centrally located, widely trusted community space: the Downtown Library. Partner organizations offer regular drop-in hours twice monthly, addressing community needs such as health and wellness, food access, legal aid, early childhood development and childcare support, adult education, senior services, paratransit, employment assistance and more.
The Hub is grant-funded and staffed by partner organizations. Participating providers include City of Hayward Human Resources, 4Cs of Alameda County, Chabot College, Eden Youth and Family Center, La Familia, Hayward Unified School District, Hayward Area Recreation and Park District, Immigrant Hope of San Leandro, Horizon Treatment Services, Hayward Evaluation and Response Teams, Alameda County Public Health, Cal State East Bay Fresh Food for Families, Hayward Operated Paratransit, Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center and the Alameda County Deputy Sheriff's Activities League.
The Hub is located at the Downtown Hayward Library, on the second floor by the Tech Lab. It is a drop-in service open to anyone. No appointment is required.
