1933 Lounge by St. Elmo to Join The Gilmore in Gilbert

The new location will mark the first 1933 Lounge outside Indiana, bringing Huse Culinary's unique and elevated dining and cocktail lounge experience to the Southeast Valley. Thompson Thrift expects to deliver the space in October 2026, with 1933 Lounge anticipated to open in fall of 2027.

1933 Lounge is a 21-and-over restaurant and cocktail lounge from Huse Culinary, the restaurant group behind St. Elmo Steak House, an Indianapolis institution founded in 1902 and one of Indiana's most recognizable restaurants. The 1933 Lounge menu features the iconic St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail alongside sushi, aged steaks and signature cocktails, bringing together celebrated classics and contemporary favorites.

1933 Lounge builds on that legacy with an intimate, speakeasy-style atmosphere and elevated dining and cocktail experience. Named for the year Prohibition ended, the concept draws inspiration from the elegance and hidden lounges of the era while pairing that spirit with modern sophistication. The Gilbert restaurant will introduce the concept to a new market while carrying forward the tradition and hospitality that have defined the St. Elmo brand for more than 120 years.

The signing also marks the latest chapter in an established relationship between Thompson Thrift and Huse Culinary. The companies previously partnered to bring both 1933 Lounge and The HC Tavern + Kitchen to Fishers District, Thompson Thrift's expansive mixed-use development in Fishers, Indiana.

Located at the northwest corner of Val Vista Drive and Germann Road, just off Loop 202, The Gilmore was designed to bring a new level of dining, retail and lifestyle offerings to one of the Southeast Valley's fastest-growing communities. The development combines restaurants, retail, office space and a hotel with vertically integrated residential. A Main Street-inspired entrance, pedestrian-friendly walkways and landscaped gathering spaces were designed to seamlessly connect the project's uses.

The approximately 200,000-square-foot commercial portion of The Gilmore is anchored by a recently opened Safeway and complemented by The Residences at The Gilmore, a 300-unit luxury apartment community set to welcome residents later this year.

"The Gilmore gave us an opportunity to think differently about what could exist in this location," Boyd said. "Gilbert's growth, demographics and strong household incomes created an opportunity to curate a mix of restaurants, retailers and amenities that historically haven't had a presence in this part of the market. With The Gilmore now approximately 90% leased, it's exciting to see that vision come to life."
