GMC introduces the most advanced, luxurious, and powerful Sierra 1500 ever

• Redesigned Sierra 1500 introduces sixth-generation Small Block V8 engines, a bold new exterior and interior, and expanded premium technology across lineup.

DETROIT - The truck all others will be measured against: GMC today released an early look at the next-generation 2027 GMC Sierra 1500, ahead of the expected launch in late 2026.

Headlined by stunning new exterior and interior design, cutting-edge digital display and trailering technologies, and offering a world-class powertrain lineup including two new V8 engines, a class-exclusive diesel and an enhanced TurboMax engine, the next generation Sierra 1500 raises the bar for premium trucks and GMC's 'Professional Grade' brand ethos.

Led by the flagship Denali Ultimate and off-road dominating AT4X, the next-generation GMC Sierra 1500 lineup packs a serious punch in the form of two new V8 engines.

All-new sixth-generation 5.7L and 6.6L Small Block V8 engines

Spearheaded by the introduction of sixth-generation Small Block V8 engines offered in 5.7L and 6.6L displacements, the 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 continues to provide customers with a powertrain for every need, lifestyle and preference.

Engineered for premium performance, the new 5.7L and 6.6L V8 engines incorporate advances in combustion, cooling, and control systems that enhance refinement and performance while reinforcing Sierra's on- and off-road durability. A new fuel injection system helps optimize power, torque, and overall performance across a wide range of driving scenarios - from daily driving to rock crawling and towing.

The Sierra 1500 lineup will also feature an enhanced TurboMax that delivers best-in-class standard torque¹, and class-exclusive Duramax diesel. The 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 will pair all available engines with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Bold and precise new design, inside and out

The 2027 Sierra 1500 introduces an all-new exterior with machine precision forms, and a more powerful stance on the road. Features include the evolution of the signature headlamps and taillamps with available welcome and farewell animations, GMC signature WOM lights, a more vertical grille, available quad exhaust outlets, and other trim specific details provide the truck a bold, confident presence.

Inside, the new Sierra 1500 offers completely redesigned interiors across every trim level, with exclusive colorways, premium materials, and Sierra first innovations. Highlights include available real wood trim accents, forged wood on Denali Ultimate, available panoramic sunroof, and best-in-class standard crew cab front head and leg room¹. The result is an elevated cabin that positions Sierra decisively upmarket without compromising durability or capability.

The available all-new MultiPro center console with expanded functionality and storage solutions is designed to support everyday use. The console opens to create an extended work surface and allows easy access to available USB charge ports² without compromising the clean, premium appearance or comfort customers expect for long-distance travel.

Denali Ultimate: Technology, comfort and performance at the top of the lineup

The 2027 Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate advances GMC's flagship full-size pickup with premium comfort features, standard V8 power, exclusive design details, and a cabin centered on technology and refinement.

Under the hood, Denali Ultimate features a standard 6.6L V8, the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine in its class¹.

Inside, Denali Ultimate features more than 60 inches of combined digital displays - the most in its class³, including:

• A new, largest in class 16.3-inch diagonal infotainment screen⁴ positioned for easy reach and visibility with class exclusive articulation and storage⁵.
• A largest in class 11.5-inch diagonal front passenger screen with articulating cover¹, that offers the passenger media and entertainment functions.
• A 12.2-inch diagonal Driver Information Center featuring a modern and intuitive look, while delivering configurable vehicle information directly in the driver's line of sight.
• A 15-inch diagonal multicolor Head Up Display (HUD) which projects key information, including speed, navigation, and available driver assistance alerts⁶, onto the windshield to help provide a more confident driving experience.
• An 8.5-inch diagonal Rear Camera Mirror⁶ can provide a wider, less obstructed view behind the vehicle than a traditional mirror, which can be helpful when the bed or rear seats are loaded for additional visibility.

A class-exclusive articulating center screen¹ integrates hidden storage behind the display, helping keep the cabin organized while preserving quick access to frequently used items. An articulating cover allows for the transition between the full front passenger screen and a slimmer display. This screen execution takes GMC's tech-forward ethos to a new level and resets expectations for what a truck can be and deliver.

The Bose Premium Series audio system with 16-speakers includes class-exclusive front head restraint mounted speakers⁵, tuned specifically for the cabin to deliver a detailed, immersive sound experience.

Complementing the interior, Denali Ultimate comes standard with a three-year subscription to Super Cruise driver assistance technology⁷ that includes trailering capability, enabling hands-free driving on more than 600,000 miles of compatible roads across the U.S. and Canada, including when towing - a feature not offered by any competitor in its class⁸. Super Cruise supports additional features such as Automatic Lane Change and Turn Signal Initiated Lane Change and is designed to enhance long-distance comfort and driver confidence.

AT4X: Off-road domination with signature GMC precision

For adventure and unrelenting exploration, the 2027 Sierra 1500 AT4X builds on Sierra's off-road credentials with new hardware and function specifically chosen for the most demanding terrains, and represents the brand's most off-road capable Sierra AT4X ever².

Key AT4X capability highlights include:

• A Sierra first 35" Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, engineered for traction and durability in challenging off-road conditions.
• New Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers, tuned to help manage high-speed off-road impacts and rough surfaces while maintaining precision, control and composure.
• Front and rear e-locking differentials (e-lockers), a combination not offered on any competitor in its class² - working with different drive modes to help optimize traction on a variety of surfaces.

Visually, AT4X is distinguished by unique exterior cues including exclusive hood design, a more purposeful stance including a 2" suspension lift and new front fascia. Inside, an exclusive Timber Mahogany colorway is designed to balance durability and comfort, with an interior featuring front seats with enhanced bolstering, a sport flat bottom steering wheel, and a standard panoramic sunroof. Details feature perforation patterns, piping, quilting and embroidery, as well as stainless steel door speaker grilles, reinforcing AT4X as a truck that can handle serious off-road use while still feeling refined on the drive home.

For those customers who want to take off-road performance even further, GMC will continue to offer the AEV Edition package on the 2027 Sierra 1500.

The 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 lineup will also include Pro, Elevation, AT4, and Denali, each offering a distinct combination of signature design, advanced technology and premium capability, specifically engineered to deliver a tailored experience aligned with how customers work, explore, and drive.
