Rescission of Boil Water Notice - Shady Glynn

OCALA, Fla. (June 14, 2026) - The City of Ocala Water Resources Department has rescinded a Florida Department of Health-required boil water notice affecting customers located in Shady Glynn Subdivision, including SE 24th Court and SE 38th Street to the cul-de-sac, and SE 39th Street from SE 24th Court to the cul-de-sac, due to damage to a water main break by a contractor. Notices will be hand delivered to affected customers.

The original notice was released Thursday, June 11, due to possible contamination of drinking water from a water main break. The City of Ocala Water Resources Department advises that the water is now safe to drink, cook with, and use for all normal daily activities. The lines in the affected area were flushed and several samples were collected. Tests showed no presence of bacteriological contamination for two consecutive days and the chlorine residual meets regulatory standards.
