Arizona Farm Bureau Supports the President’s Efforts to Reduce Diesel Fuel Prices

Arizona - October 5, 2026 -- Arizona Farm Bureau, along with American Farm Bureau Federation applaud the executive order signed by President Trump to ease limits on the use of tax-exempt dyed diesel fuel to give farmers a break. This ultimately helps all Americans.

"We appreciate the administration's recognition of the impact of high fuel costs on the agriculture and transportation industries," said Arizona Farm Bureau President John Boelts. "Diesel is a major operating cost for Arizona farmers and ranchers who grow the food and fiber our state and nation depend on, and for the truckers who move that product to market. We look forward to working with the administration as they determine how best to implement this emergency relief for our farmers and ranchers."

Across the nation, agriculture is speaking out. "We thank President Trump for recognizing that what happens at the fuel pump directly affects what happens on the farm and therefore at dinner tables across America," said American Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall. "Allowing dyed diesel fuel to be used over-the-road will bring welcome relief for farmers because every cent per gallon matters when you're running a fleet of grain trucks or hauling cattle hundreds of miles."

Added Boelts, "We appreciate steps that lower costs for the people who grow and move America's food, and we encourage corresponding action at the state level so Arizona agriculture can fully benefit."
