Supervisors Speier and Gauthier Take Child Care Listening Tour to San Mateo

Redwood City- Supervisors Jackie Speier and Lisa Gauthier will host their third town hall on child care at the San Mateo Main Library on Tuesday, September 16 at 6:00 p.m. They are inviting parents, guardians and child care providers to share their experiences.

"Hearing from parents and providers directly at these events gives us a much deeper understanding of the challenges people are facing when trying to find affordable and accessible child care in San Mateo County," Supervisor Speier said. "If we don't fix this crisis, we will continue to see families leaving our county and birthrates dropping, undermining our workforce and our economy."

"It's been such an eye-opening experience hearing from parents and providers on the issues they face regarding child care. I look forward to learning more from central county residents," said Supervisor Lisa Gauthier.

The town hall will be child friendly with a kids' corner, subject to capacity.
