We are pleased to announce that Associate Principal Thomas Frankie has been named Unit Manager of the materials engineering group within the Janney Technical Center (JTC) at our Northbrook, Illinois, headquarters.

Since joining WJE in 2013, Thomas has developed expertise in the assessment of structures compromised by failure, accident, natural disaster, or material degradation, with particular emphasis on reinforced concrete behavior, including concrete materials and corrosion. His projects often sit at the intersection of WJE's structures/materials and structural/geotechnical practices. He has played a key role in the advancement of our corrosion assessment and service life evaluation practice and currently co-coordinates our geotechnical engineering resource group.

Thomas is a licensed professional engineer and structural engineer in Illinois and is an active member of the American Concrete Institute, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the International Concrete Repair Institute, and the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois.
