Mercy’s Cheryl Matejka Recognized Among Nation’s Top Health Care CFOs

Behind every thriving health system is a leader who knows how to turn strategy into sustainability and numbers into impact. That's exactly what Cheryl Matejka brings to Mercy as executive vice president and chief financial officer.

For the second year, Becker's Hospital Review has named Matejka to its list of "190 Hospital and Health System CFOs to Know." The annual list recognizes financial leaders who are helping shape the future of health care through innovation, growth and operational excellence. Honorees were selected through editorial research and national nominations.

In her role at Mercy, Matejka provides strategic oversight for financial operations, revenue cycle, supply chain, outreach ministries and treasury services. Over the past four years, she has significantly strengthened Mercy's finances, navigating regulatory and contractual changes and the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Matejka ensures that Mercy remains financially robust to continue serving communities effectively.
